fieberhafte Vorbereitungen für den Marathon-jeder spricht mich darauf an,dass wir das nicht verpassen sollen und im Centralpark wird gehämmert, weisse Versorgungszelte aufgebaut, keuchend an mir vorbeigelaufen-heute morgen haben Stephan und ich aus dem Fenster gesehen und sogar auf der 8.Avenue sind sie schon gelaufen-also big event-
Stephan hat ein meeting nach dem anderen in Columbia university - bürstelt sogar seine Haare dafür- sehr mutterfreundlichgestern nachmittag und abend haben wir im Appartment herumgehangen-er war noch sehr erschöpft vom Halloween und einem ewig langen Gespräch in Columbia mit 12 Kollegen sodass wir nix mehr unternommen haben-sehr gemütlich hier am Computer meine Fotos gebrannt und gequasselt und New York aus dem Fenster betrachtet.....das liebe ich sehr an diesem Appartment-einfach im Sessel sitzen und auf die unterschiedlichen Wolkenkratzer schauen-Z.B. direkt auf das neue New York Times building oder auch das Rockefellercenter und in den Fenstern und Verglasungen die Sonne spiegeln sehen incl. der roten Verfärbung beim Sonnenuntergang-wir haben immer noch super Wetter bei ganz klarem Himmel und Weitsicht über den Hudson nach New Jersey

Last weeks I was working for and looking for and finally GOT IT - LOT OF WORK!! - meanwhile "others" were so occupied having fun, spending lots of money, buying 20 pairs of Nike (this is the marvellous capitalism) and doing things not told in this blog, but things which Polly one day will know from her grandmother.
Here in Catalunya we had our "Castanyada", grilled chestnuts, sweet potatos, quince jelly and cheese, sweet wine. Children and younger people were celebrating Halloween, too. Friday morning I was in Barcelona and I saw there in the subway disguised people, but of course far away from your pictures. Your trip may encourage the lectors to follow you going to this or that place, but most important is still now this big country offers thousands of opportunities and is generous woth whom accepts hospitality. Here in the european industrial countries, opportunities are restricted by age and less jobs.
My flu is growing for moments, and before it knocks me out I'll go with friends to and old lady's old castle to have a look if there is some old stuff to buy (jingle bell jingle bell).
